Standing 556 metres above sea level, the majestic mountain is a symbol of resistance and freedom against the brutality of the island's colonial past and is a beloved and treasured landmark in Mauritius. It provides a beautiful hike, consisting of native fauna, incredible views and a fascinating history. Meet your guide at the foot of the mountain and start the 3.5km hike to reach the famous metal cross which awaits you at the summit. Take in the breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean and the south coast before you start the hike back down to earth.
